The Twin-Waterfall Hike Daytrip is one of many activities for retreat guests including horse riding, bili bili water rafting, river ‘beach’ volleyball, fishing with locals, harvesting and preparing local foods, learning handicrafts from the local village women, and more. For large groups and companies, there are also teamwork activities including mini-Olympics, group hikes, upstream swimming competitions, bili bili raft making and racing, and more.
Otherwise visitors can simply relax and become immersed in traditional Fijian life of yesterday: sleeping in traditional Fijian Bures handcrafted by villagers using local materials such as bamboo and Sago Palm; eating Fijian foods sourced from the surrounding mountainside crops; and enjoying the natural environment of the river and the tropical highlands.
Local Guides
Local Guides are provided for all activities that range from river swimming (option of ‘upstream swimming competitions’ for a laugh); bili bili rafting (can include the teamwork activity of bamboo raft making and racing); mountain and river hikes (several options); ‘beach’ volleyball on the sandy riverbank; river aerobics; personal training activities (we have a trained personal trainer and former semi-professional overseas rugby player on staff); traditional cooking (and the option to harvest your own food from the mountainous crops of Navunikabi Village), and more! In the evening there is kava drinking, guitar singing and games, bon fire (optional), meke lessons (traditional dance lessons – optional), and more.
